3 Easy Questions to Ask Yourself When Your Creativity is Low
My mom was recently diagnosed with a terminal condition.
For the entire week following her diagnosis, I was basically in shock.
I cried randomly and frequently, especially when I was alone: in the shower, working in my office, driving to my 9-to-5 job, in the McDonald's drive-thru.
While I've pulled myself together and can now sometimes talk about my mom's diagnosis without breaking down (I haven't cried for 2 whole days!), my creativity and focus have definitely suffered.
Last week was the first time in weeks that I didn't email my list.
I really felt like skipping this week, too, TBH, because I feel really blah and uninspired.
But I've been proud of myself for consistently creating content, and I didn't want to give up on my email habit.
So I started by asking myself 3 simple questions...
What am I feeling passionate about?
What has inspired me lately, even if it's not related to emails, copywriting, or funnels?
What would I enjoy writing about?
Gotta be honest with you: my answers were not particularly strategic.
But maintaining my email habit was more important to me than maintaining a professional veneer, so my email simply shared a few things that had recently lit me up...
1) A quote from Atomic Habits author James Clear:
2) A killer slow cooker chicken noodle soup recipe
3) Cookies that are delicious AND so freakin' happy-looking
